Vale Down Rocks

Spotted by Peter Freeman from the left bank of the River Lyd this is a small metamorphic wall with lower boulders. Situated on Private Land on Vale Down, but accessible if you stray from the footpath that goes south from Nodden Gate.

The main outcrop appears small from afar but is clearly visible from the other bank of the river, even from Widgery Cross.

It is best seen from up close where the metamorphic geology becomes more apparent, despite granite being metres away from this spot.

Note: This outcrop is on private land, but it is accessible.
