Rectory Tor

Close to the rectory in Moretonhampstead is this small gathering of rocks seemingly bulldozed into position at the base but with some higher rocks in the trees above. The rocks can be found immediately beside the public footpath.

The arrangement of rocks at the base appear to be artificial, but the upper rocks are natural, with minimal jointing up in the trees in which they reside. So we have given it the classification of "small tor".

Nearby, there is also a jagged outcrop high on the hill above the main piles but clearly in Private Land above the house. This lies at Grid Ref: SX 7596 8615, shown in the last photo. There could be more hidden within the trees.
