Higher Sticklepath Crags
![]() There is one modest crag of rock to be easily viewed above Skaigh Lane, to the south-west of Higher Sticklepath. ![]() The most prominent section at the given grid reference presents as a jagged outcrop composed of metamorphic rock, similar to that seen in the Teign Valley. Grass covers the small summit area with a good view of the minor road below. Other rocks extend to the west but these are small, overgrown and a little indistinct, likely having been created by the road cutting. That said, it is good evidence of how close the bedrock is to the surface in this area. ![]() First described by Paul Rendell in Dartmoor News Issue 170 September/October 2019, the crags are easy to visit and can be seen on Google Street View. ![]()
